Welcome to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s fifth annual Education Week. A flagship event in the MSO’s Education and Community Engagement calendar, the week aims to bring the audience into the heart of the orchestra and features programs for newcomers and music-lovers of all ages.
Highlights this year include our Opening Night Concert based around Benjamin Britten’s all-time classic, A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, Paul Rissmann’s highly participatory concerts for Primary School audiences, and concerts conducted by MSO Associate Conductor Benjamin Northey, Conductor Laureate of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Johannes Fritzsch, and the MSO’s Chief Conductor Sir Andrew Davis, who this year will conduct our community side-by-side concert, Symphony in a Day.
I encourage you to engage with our Orchestra through this week-long celebration of music and learning.
Bronwyn Lobb, Director of Education and Community Engagement
